French Holiday Property Rentals for 2008

Are there any french holiday property owners out there? Have you started getting bookings for 2008 yet? Where are you pitching your prices compared with 2007?

I have gently increased my prices from a low base over the past 3 years and think that I will leave them alone for 2008. I'm going to actively market to those people who rented my cottage in years 1 and 2, as all seemed to have a good time and I figure that it might just generate a little more business - if not from them directly, then from people they know who might want a french holiday in 2008.

    Hi Martin

We've had a slow trickle of 2008 bookings for our holiday Gite come through already, and they started in August 2007. To date (end Dec) we've received 8 bookings so far, just about the same as the same stage last year.

On the second question of prices for the new year, we generally increase our rental price each year, by about £25 per week for the peak season and less for the off-season periods.

In the past we've looked at what our competitors are charging and tried to pitch at around a similar price point (although I think we're probably slightly cheaper than some others).

    Good luck

    Geoffrey
